Champion of Fort Collins

Energy efficiency, building green, conserving natural resources – these are the new watchwords in the U.S. housing industry. Whether you’re constructing your dream castle or simply updating the family domicile, it makes sense to invest in products that will serve you and the environment well, and save you money over the long term.

Since 1999, Champion of Fort Collins, located in Loveland, has supplied homeowners north of Denver with windows, patio rooms, vinyl siding and doors. Its parent company, Ohio-based Champion Window Manufacturing Company, founded in 1954, is a manufacturer, distributor, installer and wholesaler selling directly to homeowners in more than 70 markets coast to coast.

“Our main advantage is we have a factory right here in Denver, so we build, install and service our products locally,” says Steve Lambert, division manager and one of the owners of the Fort Collins business. The Denver factory produces around 1,000 virtually maintenance-free vinyl replacement window units each week. With the factory in Denver and another store in Colorado Springs, Champion covers the Front Range and mountain communities.

Manufacturing the windows in Colorado provides a less-obvious but important benefit to consumers. “We make a custom window here in Colorado for Coloradans,” explains Mark Boelman, Champion’s office manager. “Colorado’s higher altitude can create seal failure in windows made out-of-state by other manufacturers. And,” he adds, “our lifetime warranty really means something; Champion has been in business more than 50 years – we’re here to stay.”

Energy Efficiency

Champion is an ENERGY STAR® partner. ENERGY STAR® is a voluntary partnership among the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, product manufacturers, local utilities and retailers. Partners help promote efficient products by labeling with the ENERGY STAR® logo and educating consumers about the benefits of energy efficiency. By choosing ENERGY STAR®-labeled products, consumers keep their utility bills down and help the environment.

“You can’t afford not to replace old windows,” Lambert asserts. “There’s an immediate impact of savings on your energy bills, and it will add value to your home and give you a competitive advantage when you go to sell it. It will be a maintenance-free, energy-efficient home.”

Champion’s exclusive Comfort 365 Glass™ is a high-performance, energy-efficient window glass. It helps keep the heat in during the winter and the heat out during the summer, making your home more comfortable year round. It also significantly reduces transmission of the sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays, one of the leading causes of premature fading of carpet, furniture and draperies.

Comfort 365 Glass is standard in all Champion Windows and Patio Rooms. If you visit one of the showrooms, you can walk through the Comfort 365 Glass Challenge.

“We can equate the $4 gallon at the pump with what’s on the horizon for us as Americans – impending heating and cooling costs,” says Lambert. “Along with the philosophy of building green, we have to use fewer resources, and use energy efficiently – for ourselves and for the planet.”

Champion has earned the Good Housekeeping Seal for its vinyl replacement windows and patio rooms. A Champion patio room or porch enclosure allows you to bring the outdoors in and enjoy the back yard even more, in addition to increasing the usable space in your house.

With Champion vinyl siding you won’t spend weekends scraping and painting your home’s exterior. The siding is backed by Champion’s lifetime warranty on material and labor and 50-year transferrable warranty. Because Champion installs the siding, they also service and guarantee it and their workmanship.

Whether placed over a window to protect your home’s interior, or for a shady retreat on your patio, a Champion retractable awning makes life more comfortable. It provides a place to sit outdoors during bright or hot conditions and protects your home’s interior from the sun’s heat and damaging effects. If you extend the awning when your home’s western exposure is hit by the afternoon’s hottest sun, you can reduce air-conditioner use and protect your carpet and furniture from fading.

Champion doors provide a steel or fiberglass entry system that is energy efficient, secure and beautiful. You get the authentic look of a wood door at nearly one-third the cost.
